The bloody game turned the lights off on two human lives

The bloody game turned the lights off on two human lives.

While the motorway police took action against the participants of the bloody game, neither the traffic police nor the local police standing on the sidelines could do anything. On the M-Expressway, in a motorcycle race, two young individuals lost the game of life. Hassan Muneer, a resident and twelfth-grade student, and Shayan Shah, a resident of Faisal Colony, lost their lives in a motorcycle race on the under-construction track of the Malir Expressway in Karachi. The incident occurred yesterday on the under-construction track of the Malir Expressway near Shah Faisal Colony, and a video of the incident has gone viral on social media. The deceased young man has been identified as 18-year-old Shayan and the 20-year-old as Hassan. Hassan Muneer was a resident and a student of the twelfth class, while Shayan Shah was a resident of Faisal Colony. The police stated that the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Sharafi Goth police station, and an investigation is underway against it. According to hospital sources, the families of the deceased youth took the bodies from Jinnah Hospital without legal proceedings. It's worth noting that such incidents are increasing on a daily basis in Karachi. Youngsters involved in violent sports, particularly bike riders and van racers, used to frequent areas like Clifton, Gizri, Defense, Do Darya, DHA, and other posh localities. Organized biking and van racing, where bets are placed on the winners and prizes are awarded to the successful racers, involve a certain percentage distributed among those placing, playing, and winning bets. However, amid these bloodsport activities, gruesome incidents occur. Some reports suggest that bodies of unknown victims are sent to Edhi, Chhipa, and other welfare organizations, and if the bodies remain unidentified, they are buried in mass graves. For a long time, no effective concrete measures have been taken at the government level to address this bloody game, and law enforcement agencies have not taken any action to curb it. While there are higher chances of fatalities in such deadly games, families and the general public in the affected areas have urged the Chief Minister of Sindh, DG Rangers Sindh, IG Sindh, Additional IG Karachi, Motorway Police, and DIG Traffic to demand strict legal action against those involved in playing these bloody games. They emphasize turning them into a deterrent, highlighting that those who trade human lives for a few pieces of paper deserve to be condemned to hell.
