During the 2024 elections, a designated amount was allocated for meals during duty by the IG Sindh. According to sources, IG Sindh Raffat Mukhtar Raja had allocated over 300 million rupees for meals during the 2024 elections for Karachi police officers and employees. Each SSP was allocated a sum of 5 million rupees for meals, through which DSPs and SHOs responsible for election duties were tasked with providing food. However, the SSPs and SHOs remained concerned as the allocated amount for meals was not issued by the SSPs. In cases of non-receipt of funds, officers and employees on duty were forced to eat at local hotels and markets using their own vehicles. Despite the strict nature of election duties, many officers and employees continued their duties hungry. It is evident that clear instructions were given by the IG Sindh to ensure the provision of meals and water to officers and employees during election duty, but the issue of the allocated amount box remained unresolved, leaving SSPs and SHOs distressed. However, the box containing the designated amount is still closed.
