The change in government brought changes in the police administration

The change in government brought changes in the police administration; the IG Sindh was replaced, and the Additional IG Karachi was also changed. However, the orientation of the investigation teams at Sindh Police has never been correct. After the filing of the First Information Report (FIR) for any crime, the process of investigation begins. Whether it's a missing person, abduction for ransom, theft, dacoity, murder, or attempted murder, various hurdles and excuses prevent the investigation process, especially in Karachi's investigation police.

Following the inclusion of the FIR, either the accused criminals benefit due to an incomplete investigation or the complainant, pursuing their case with the respective investigation officer, is often told initially to provide diesel for the vehicle. Subsequently, excuses such as "Ram Leela" are presented, and the complainant is patiently asked to wait, assuring that the investigation police are working on the case. Afterward, when call data records (CDR), location data, etc., need to be obtained, a locator is required, which we don't have. We must write letters to our respective SSP, SP, and DSP for the locator, which will be drafted, sent, and reviewed by Officer Shahi.

Once the officer reads the letter, it goes through a lengthy process before we can obtain the locator. If the case involves abduction for ransom, a missing person, or just searching for a missing person, the complainant is charged with their respective Thane's Investigation Incharge and AO's bribery to speed up their case. After spending considerable time with the investigation police, the complainant, tired and humiliated, eventually sits down. Meanwhile, the former IG Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, during his tenure, took solid measures to strengthen and connect the investigation police.

For each relevant IO, an additional month's salary was added to ensure that no financial difficulties hindered the investigation process. Despite having all the facilities and resources, the investigation by the police appears unsuccessful. Conversely, it is observed that such urban residents are troubled by the attitudes, ethics, and bribery demands of their respective IOs, which is no less than a moment of thought. The DIG Amnesty Sindh, Raja Raffat Mukhtar, and Additional IG Karachi Khadim Hussain Rind are earnestly appealing to correct the orientation of the investigation police by ensuring justice's demands are fulfilled so that every citizen can receive relief from the investigation police immediately after filing an FIR.
