Anti-Narcotics Agency has successfully thwarted a multi-million rupee diesel smuggling operation. In a recent operation, Kashm Agency seized a smuggled consignment of diesel worth millions, exposing a unique method employed by these smugglers. This operation highlights a shift in tactics adopted by smugglers due to stringent monitoring and actions against traditional smuggling routes. According to details, Director General Customs Intelligence, Mr. Faiz Ahmed Chaudhry, informed Karachi Intelligence that a group of suspects, involved in stealing duty-paid diesel oil through a pipeline from Karachi to Pakko Mehr, was selling it in the market. In light of this information, raids were conducted in Karachi, leading to the discovery of a factory involved in extracting edible oil at Port Qasim. Around 3 AM, Customs Intelligence's team conducted a raid, uncovering a 174-foot-long hose connected to the white pipeline leading to Pakko. The pipeline was used for the illicit withdrawal of duty-paid diesel, and approximately 65,000 liters of stolen diesel were seized at the scene. The owner was arrested for further investigation. The apprehended owner will face charges related to the recovered 2 million rupees worth of stolen diesel. Director General Faiz Ahmed Chaudhry praised the efforts of the Karachi Customs Intelligence team, highlighting their endeavors to combat smuggling despite limited resources.
